Part of a discussion I'm having with someone on the Rant, and I figured a lot of you guys might know the answer to this.

I know ESPN cut out any games that can be seen on their regular stations from their ESPN3 broadcasts, and now you have to have WatchESPN with your local cable provider to watch a lot of it, if not all. Is XBL an exception? Will I get anything that shows up on ESPN3's broadcast list, or will I be SOL since I don't have that option with Cox?

Trying to determine if I'll get to watch the LSU/Idaho game on XBL or if I'll have to stream it.

I don't think cox has an agreement with watchespn so I would think it would be blocked, probably will have to stream

The only difference I could see is that I'm paying for Live, so I would want to say it bypasses what I have with Cox. Sure I'm wrong though. Wishful thinking.

The LSU game hasn't been on the xbox either of the past 2 weekends. There were however, 20 different games or so to chose from.

North Texas was on ESPNU, and last week on ESPN. I think those are the games they are cutting out. The Idaho game isn't on any of their stations.

Just going by this thread.

Plus, the Vandals got some love from SVP a little while back. At least people know about them

Yes, as long as you live outside of LA. The game is not on an ESPN affiliate so it should be on ESPN3. You can also see it on mobile devices via the Watch ESPN app.

Last weekend when I was watching UGA on Xbox ESPN app, I tried to split screen the Florida game and it would not let me because it was available on my regular ESPN channels on my TV.

If you have a provider which allows you WatchESPN access, you should be able to see everything available on TV using that app, and any non-televised games on the Xbox. Only other thing I can think of is possibly blackouts in your area. If so, you're screwed.

I thought XBL wasn't technically the internet. That's the only reason I would want to say that having WatchESPN with your cable provider wouldn't matter at all.

I don't know, the only thing I think the WatchESPN app is good for is if your TV is tied up and you can't watch a game, or you are away from home and want to watch a game and can't get to a TV.

It's true that the lsu games weren't streaming on xbl ESPN live, but they're both on there as replays now.
Also even if a game is streaming live it still depends on the area you're in. I forget whether it was Arkansas vs Ulm or Georgiavsmizzou but when I tried to stream it said not available in my area (central Louisiana).
