n my experience, people who have read the books romance Yen. People who have played the first two games but didn’t read the books romance Triss.

Watching the series definitely changes things.

I learned this lesson. Then, on the second play through, I stuck with Yen. Still haven't finished the 2nd playthough. I'm in the middle of Hearts.

I’ve done each on different playthroughs. Yen is better from a story standpoint, but I like Triss’s personality in this game so much better. Yen is the obvious choice if you’ve played the previous games and/or read the books.

Hell, I played Witcher 1 and 2, and still made this mistake.

That’s just being greedy. Triss was a sweetheart in the first couple of games

Though I think I romanced Shani at some point? It’s been long enough that I lose track

Eh as someone who read the short story books, played the original game, then read the rest of the books and played 2 and 3 when released, I wouldn't agree. Yen is pretty much a terrible person in the books for the most part to me, though she comes through in the end. I think they make game Yen way more likeable than book Yen.

I went Triss first playthrough and Yen on the second myself.
