What are the thoughts on the DmC reboot?

The remaster comes out tomorrow. I never played the original DMC games so I don't really care how it compares to the originals. I'm just curious to know how it is as a stand alone game. The reviews are good overall.

That must have been before I had PS plus.
eta: Just looked it up, DMC was a PS plus game in January of 2014. I didn't have PS Plus yet.

I personally thought it was a great game and worth a purchase. I played it on PS3. I think most people who didn't like was because they compared it to the old ones. I never played the originals.
