To put it better: Bruce Wayne was INCREDIBLY invested in Dick Grayson. Grayson has actually taken on the mantle of "Batman" 4-5 times in the comic book even though Wayne always fights Grayson saying he doesn't wish to put that pressure on him.. The Grayson / Wayne relationship is very much a son / father relationship, even with the "fights". Grayson left Batman to be an "individual of his own".
Also: this Robin will probably be Tim Drake, the 3rd Robin.
