Am I the only one that finds that rockstar games story modes repetitive and boring?
With the GTA games and RDR, every mission was the SAME thing with a slightly different story behind it.

Where is everyone getting it at? I'm trying to find the cheapest option.
Amazon has it for $60 + $15 off next purchase.

Gamestop for me. I don't want to wait for it, plus they do a 25% trade in bonus towards Noire.

The knock against the ending from IGN is completely opinion on whoever played the game. The repetitive cases is valid complain but just cause one writer didn't like the ending doesn't mean I won't.

i thought rockstar was just the distributor and it is a company from australia that designed it.

GTA 4 was repetitive for me. RDR is awesome because of all crap you can do on the side. Don't know why, but I can go pick flowers for hours.

That's sort of true. I read an interview yesterday with the creator of the game.
It's developed by Team Bondi. They originally signed up with SCEA as the distributor. When an important figure (maybe the head?) of SCEA left the company, Bondi asked permission to switch to Rockstar and it was granted. The Bondi guy had a long term relationship with Dan Houser, one of the founders of Rockstar.
He talked a lot about the process of the game. He was very clear it was Bondi's concept and project, but also clear that Rockstar played more than a minor role in the development of the game. Seems like he was trying to give Rockstar credit while making it clear that he/his team was the driving force.
Reading between the lines, here's what I gathered. Bondi developed the idea and concept. Rockstar provided a lot of the firepower to help polish their ideas and bring this huge project to life. The creator talked about the thousands of people at Rockstar and how they came in to help specifically with things like the motion capture and music. Also that Rockstar had definite parameters Bondi had to meet to live up to a Rockstar-quality game. And some tactical guidance like cutting down the number of cases included in the game so it fit on one (or three) discs. BTW - it sounds like they have a rich backup of cases to use for DLC already finished or partly finished.
He was very praising of Rockstar. The game took over 7 years to develop. One thing he talked about was how another studio would have forced them to rush this game out a year ago once the engine was up and running. Rockstar is willing to sit back for another year and continue to polish it until everyone is happy with the product. A company like SCEA releases dozen of games a year, so it's hard to get marketing support for you game. Not a problem at Rockstar.

And that is why Rockstar products are amazing in quality, depth, presentation and gameplay. And it's also why their products fly off shelves.

I mistakingly sold this game back to Gamestop, thinking I wouldn't play it again. I miss it. I need to go pick it back up for like $20.

Reviews are all very praising but some sites/writers don't seems to "get it".
