Thoughts on FF16s first DLC echoes of the fallen and it’s upcoming much larger 1?

So House keeping for anyone who doesn’t know if you buy this dlc alone it’s 9.99 I believe. The second one which is more accurately an expansion will arrive sometime mid March post release of rebirth and it’s going to be 15.99. All that’s truly known about it at this time is it’ll be large, it’ll heavily expand the story and answer questions to the point they’re considering sequel, and leviathan becomes a playable eikon with a moveset. You can buy them both now for 20$ though if you wish.

On to echoes of true fallen. Was it worth 10$? For me, it’s an absolute yes. However, I can see why many maybe would argue otherwise. Firstly, it is dlc that can only literally take place right before the final boss after doing other “optional” sidequest to ensure you have the proper party for it. Total play time for me was 2 hours and 20 min on run one when I was amazed by how cool it was but it can easily be done much shorter. It’s basically a wow raid or another tower dungeon just a far better one.

Some good, one of my main complaints of the game being too easy was somewhat remedied. It’s by not means hard but it’s by far the most difficult part of the game, it has if I recall 4-5 completely new unique awesome bosses then the final boss who I won’t spoil but it is a legacy final fantasy villain. If you’re interested in the story of the fallen and how they lost to ultima the story may interest you but the ultimate draw here is the combat.
