Third time's the charm: 343 has nailed it with Halo Infinite

I played a lot of Halo 3 when I was in HS. Not competitively but causally. I played a lot of H5. Like a lot. This feels like a good balance of core gameplay and shot skill vs having abilities and and new age stuff. I like it. I would rather have a 5 shot weapon start in ranked but I know that is just preference.

I’ll dabble in ranked but so far quick play has been great and the crew got together for some customs games.

Like someone said it’s the perfect mix of 3 and 5. Loving it so far.
I will be a sucker and pay for campaign.

This. I’m a straight up worse player in this game than I was in H5. I could definitely get into the 20+ kill area in H5 ranked in slayer on occasion. Even in Infinite I’m getting waxed still and have only gotten to 15 kills max maybe.

Not the greatest fan of the BR but then I’ve never been the greatest with the BR. I always went pistol and started to get good with the H5 AR as well.

Also. I could sometimes rack up some perfect kills. I’ve gotten like 3 in a crap ton of games.

I think the sensitivity settings in H5 were easier to adjust for fine tuning aim. I’m at a loss as to what to tune in Infinite.

Having a lot of fun with it so far. Messed around with the cross-platform party system and it worked okay. Looks like the PC player needs to be host or it freaks out some. Only weird thing was doing BTB, our fireteam wouldn't always be in the same squad together. Made no sense.

For sure. On a good day/match, I was a 50% accuracy shooter and could sometimes get my Magnum accuracy to 55-60%. My DMR was always at 50+%. But my BR was mediocre. Usually 40s.

But I’m also not getting off as many shots. It seems like most I play against just spam the trigger to death and end up in the 30s but a good amount of kills. It’s annoying.

With it being a 4 shot start it is all about team shots. You can't run solo. Between being 1 or 2 shot across the map and running into someone you have no chance. You have to play with your team. That isn't a bad thing unless you just want to play some slayer by yourself and 1 on 1 people which is hard with a 4 shot start.

Oddball sucks in this game and I’m tired of playing it.

It's good, we need playlists though, shouldn't be forced to play oddball and capture the flag.
