Houston takes the first win of the 3 game set against the Yankees with a 4 hit shutout, 5-0. Brett Oberholzer turned in a phenomenal performance going 7 innings, giving up only 3 hits, issuing 1 walk and striking out two batters. Elbers and Edgin finished the top of the 8th and 9th innings to close the game out.
PoG obviously goes to Oberholzer, but offensive PoG has to go to SS Arthur Hargrove who turned in a 3 for 4 performance finishing just a HR shy of hitting for the cycle. He tallied to RBIs and 1 run scored in his great day at the plate.

Anyone know why George Springer isn't in the game? I can't find him anywhere...
Game 2:
Yankees use the long ball early to get ahead of the Astros and never look back. Brian McCann, yes you read that right; Brian McCann started the scoring off with an inside the park homerun after a line drive snuck past Dexter Fowler and rolled to the hill in Minute Maid Park. Teixeira was being Teixeira and singled home 2 runs before the ever ageless Beltran blasted a 2 run shot into the right field bleachers. The Astros never recovered as Hiroki Kuroda dominated on the mound. Kuroda went the full 9 innings striking out 2 and only giving up 6 hits. The rubber match in the series will take place at a later date.

The Houston Astros held a press conference after their game 2 loss to the Yankees to announce a few signings to bring in some veteran depth/leadership to the young team. The following players were introduced to the media and public:
C Yorvit Torrealba
1B Travis Hafner
RF Vernon Wells
All 3 additions have been signed to 1 year MLB deals.

My internet connection just went out in the middle of a game for god knows what reason. I came back and it says "In Progress" now. It was the April 24th game against the Padres. Not sure what the protocol is for if this happens, but I was losing 5-2 in the 6th when it happened. I was just starting to come back too :sigh:

I knocked out 5 games tonight besides the one I dc'd in the middle of. Picked up the ageless wonder, Juan Pierre to fill in at LF for me while my guy is on the DL. Working my way out of this hole I started out in.
