Have a technical issue with my setup after just moving to new apartment. I keep having issues being on my network on psn, everytime my wife (no pics) gets on her computer when I'm playing my connection goes out. I keep getting an ip conflict error message on my pc and her Mac. Any idea how to resolve this myself or just need to call the ISP? Have tried 2 diff routers

give your ps3 a static Ip address and set it up in a DMZ.

Do I just make up an ip or just change the last digit?

Sounds like both devices are trying to pull the same ip

Assign both devices static ips. Admin into your router to accomplish this.

yeah, typically it's going to be like this : 192.168.0.1

you can make it like this:192.168.0.5

and accomplish what you need.

You're a pro, bruce.

Yeah op, listen to him. If you play cod or something online ull need to mess with dmz... If not.. Just assign both devices static internal ips

You should never open up a dmz. The best protection you have is the ip packet filtering that is happening at your router. You should do this:

Find your router ip: it will be 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.0.1

Make the ps3 ip 192.168.x.25 it doesnt matter as long as the number is below 255 and not already used. also avoid 0

login into the router through a browser at its ip address.

Forward the ports PS3 uses to your newly assigned static ip.

Bang your done and no crazy connection to a dmz. That would be the equivalent of hooking right to the modem which is very insecure. I would actually compare it to bare backing a Thai hooker.
