They can always say they are ready for it, but companies can never truly tell what their servers can hold. It happens with every game pretty much

First days for server openings are usually the worst. You'll hardly ever see as big an immediate load as when the servers first go up, so often companies will just let the issues happen instead of spending extra money on hardware and ending up not needing it a week down the line. It'll work itself out or be fixed soon I'm sure.
