quote:yes. Bout to get real technical in here.
Any reason the route I used to destroy his cover 2 that led to all my touchdowns shouldn't have worked MR.NATION?
First off, the corner on your Z wr would stay with him and not stay in the flats because he has no #2 threat. Your Y motioning over would move that free safety to the middle of the field and the SS to over the top of Y after he passes W. The corner would take W on that chute route, SS would cover X. Sam Linebacker would identify Y as his new #3 and "wall him off" and get under him, and the FS would still play him over the top. Will linebacker has the rb if he decides to come out of backfield.

please re post diagram with that statement
But yes, lets get technical since apparently my W's can not be linked to countless lab hours, good play-calling, above average user skill and reading the defense.

quote:i'm on iphone, no diagrams. That is how cover 2 is played in real life on the college level. The game gets nowhere near as technical in its programing as that, or else 85% of the fanbase wouldn't play due to the complexity of defense.

Ok well even if they played it how it was supposed to play it, if that corner dosen't get a good bump on that outside reciever then he'd be wide open in the soft spot of the zone.
You said he would back off and direct the reciever into the safety leaving the flat route open for a quick hit unless that LB is playing close to the LOS.

quote:correct in that the flat route would be open. They'll give up that underneath route and 'drive' on it when they see the qb about to check it down. The thing about that trips that you motion to is its gonna bring the safety out farther, shortening the distance he has to cover.

But yes, you are correct in that in this particular zone with a "hard corner"(one playing flats first) the area between where the Cb releases him and S picks him up is open. Now if the corner is playing soft(on long 2nd and 3rd downs for example), then the corner would back pedal with the WR until the ball is checked down into the flats.

sorry for my shitty diagram but this is the exact play I ran a few times. The key to the cover 2 is that MLB in my opinion. The MLB that ART was user controlling. when the CPU controls him he drops deep to help the SS and FS but then recovers to troll the middle. Art would play shallow and take away anything short. With user error factored in he'd prob take that angle route and follow it across the field leaving the drag open anyway had I not took the 1 on 1 battle with the safety. There is nothing CHEESY about that at all.

My little computer men are just not that smart.
7th just figured you needed a little push for the title. Texas was my best option for a team switch. They pulled the #2 class last year and top 5 the year before. Texas is a big state and everyone wants some of it. Seems like ND and Florida St are on everyone of my recruits.

could you post the original pic, unedited, so i can show you how it's supposed to be defended that EA failed so terribly on
I'm speaking of bunch formations. The EA alignments to it are so fricked up

yeah but if I run man 2 deep the underneath stuff is still there because Florida has 4 WR's that are better than most people's one. I need 4 corners rated 90 or better. Better hit the corners hard this year in recruiting

Just realized i open the season with 4 straight road games, before getting 4 straight home goes, 2 road games, then 2 home games

This might be my most explosive offense yet. 2 QB system, and 2 really, really good running backs that fit my system perfectly. Saying this is my best offense yet is huge, considering i've had the nations leading WR the last 3 years(Justin Blackmon twice, Patrick McDonald last season)

I get impatient and don't try to read the D anymore and force plays. I need to tweek my playbook and find some audibles that work.
Posted on 1/5/12 at 12:41 pm to Art Vandelay
Find a scheme and stick with it. Learn it love it
im going work on some audibles as well. I have no clue why I always recruit fast qb's because I rarely use their speed. I need a Tom Brady out there.
