Might as well say switch since 3ds is being replaced.

Is Nintendo serious with this shite?
quote:I have nothing against mobile games but we shouldn't ignore the fact that each platform (and input method) has its strengths and weaknesses. I don't want to play a precision based platformer on a touch screen any more than I want to play a text adventure with a flight stick. And I'm not going to carry around a Bluetooth gamepad or some weird adapter for my phone to get traditional console controls. I'm sure some people will but I'm just not that guy. But I'll occasionally play a game like "The Room" or "Device 6" on my iPad because those games utilize the strengths of that hardware's input method.
Maybe that's the problem this board has with it, everyone is getting in on the fun and it's not limited to a bunch of elitists.

It's not really that bad on a touchscreen. Beat GTA3 on an iphone.
I play a Trials type game all the time with touchscreen. It's not as good as a controller, but it is a fun little time waster.

Where is all this shite posting coming from? You're normally better than this.
I enjoy the hell out of mobile gaming. It's nice to waste 5 mins in the can playing a game to recharge during the day without having to bring a 3DS. I've played Ingress a long time and enjoy the shite out of it.

quote:I have a friend who heard good things about Bastion and liked the art style for it. She bought it, played it, and told me she didn't like it that much because she got stuck really early and it didn't seem fair. I asked her to show me where she was stuck, expecting her to pull out her laptop and boot up Steam. She pulled out her iPad. I'm sure there are a good number of people who have beaten Bastion on iPad but that's not really how it should be played. I'm also sure many people have beaten StarCraft 64.

I have the 3rd gen ipad, safari is too much for it most of the time.
It works ok as a annoying youtube video player for my daughter when I need her to be quiet for a little bit while I do some adulting.

quote:Exactly. I hate games where I'm wrestling with the controls on any platform. Touch screen, virtual gamepads are the epitome of that. I'm never able to get into that state where you forget you're holding a controller.

So I'm guessing the release date is turning out to be a huge troll

No, just played a bit. Came out at 1pm Eastern.

Ohhhh Nintendo, you sneaky son of a bitch. So, the game has 6 worlds each with 4 levels. You can only play 1-1 through 1-3. After that you have to buy the game for $9.99.

I almost beat it on iPad, but the wall jumping just wasn't possible with those controls and I gave up.

It's out and it's very well done, enjoying it.

quote:I've never felt this was sneaky though. if the game sucks, I bet you're glad you didn't buy it. if you're hopelessly hook, then $10 ain't no thang.

but yeah, the point is to get more people playing it and increase sales

They announced price and amount of levels awhile ago. Wasn't too sneaky unless you just didn't pay attention to news on the app.
