So I may have been a Lil late to the wagon. I just found out about this concept game. Apparently, it has quite a large following. Nonetheless, has anyone thought about a TD Gaming Board organization within the upcoming game alphas alphas and beta?

Looks like something I could sink a few billion hours into. What's the main differences between this and eve online?

On a side note I've passed 500 hours on civ v.

I never played Eve online, but the development lead is Chris Roberts ( circa. Wing Commander fame). But it seems like a graphical upgrade to Eve, with it using the Cryengine 3. The caveat to it, is that it is completely crowd funded with the proceeds going absolutely into community driven development. There will be no publisher to control the purse strings. I am not sure how comparative it is totally to EO, other than what I have read. Give a look and see how it compares.

Its hard to tell on differences at this point, the game is still so far away from release. I assume you are right on the graphical upgrade, but I also read the games min req will essentially be a dual core apu. This game has mentioned you will rely more on skill than gear in fighting situations, which should be interesting. Anything they can do to keep it from being a WoW style MMO is a good thing, imo.
I would play EVE if I could put in enough hours to justify paying a monthly fee. Unfortunately, I just dont see that happening any time soon - or ever - really. Having said that, a one time fee with no monthly dues or purchasable expansions (they claim they will provide monthly or bi weekly content for free - no expansions) makes me wonder how they will cover costs. I hate being micro-transactioned to death in the "pay to win" model.
