spin-off FF14 thread: should square bring it to console and are they even currently able

Bring it back to console.’title too long. Ff14 has rightly earned its name among the new that killed the old. I don’t even care for mmos but I mean the way they burnt it down, and rebuilt what is for all purposes a mainline game just has mmo gimmicks and hot bar combat. I ask this not know if they should or shouldn’t. But I also ask if they can. Recently they couldn’t even sell the game their servers had too many players. Many who are pc puritans will surely claim all calamities will come and the game will be ruined. I am genuinely curious.

It's already on Playstation. I guess they could bring it to Xbox but that's the only other option at the moment.

I was my understanding they removed it from purchase on the store.
They didn’t retroactive take it from people. Maybe should’ve been more clear

Uhmmm I wouldn't consider this a "mainline entry", and is definitely an mmo. It's a great game, and has been on PS4 since A Realm Reborn released. Not sure why you thought otherwise. Or how you think this is "a mainline FF game with mmo gimmicks and a hot bar".

I was under the believe it was taken off console stores after one of the expansion. Appears i was misinformed. But you’re wrong about the second part. Show me any mmo anywhere ever made with the work put into building its narrative and characters. It can very much be seen as mainline game from those elements. It does have mmo gimmicks because well it’s fricking mmo lol. It’s definitely the first of its kind so much it doesn’t have a proper name I’ve just called it mmo hybrid. The sales and fact they had actively stop selling it becaus they couldn’t handle player volume backs me up on this.
I mean can you honestly look yourself in the mirror and say a random wow plot out together in an afternoon is anyway like what FF14 gives?

I’ve never played another MMO, so I can’t compare to WoW, but I definitely did not feel as thought I was playing a standard FF game with online players running around. It was a very overwhelming experience when I began and I would have quit within hours had I not had friends leading me around.

They temporarily removed the ability for players to buy the game because the servers couldn't handle the player count. It's been back on sale for a few weeks now. This didn't stop console players from playing it at any point.
Also, if you bought a physical copy, then that bypassed it too.
