The wife talked me into picking it up (I bought it online, got the full version that includes all DLC's for about $50 during Black Friday) and have had a blast with it thus far. The progress bar says I'm about 50% done but I focus on all the side missions and objectives the moment they come out then get back to the main story once all that's done.
Things like the random groups of Demons showing up and committing some crime are a lot of fun but they aren't perpetual (meaning I've only seen them last as long as that x/5 objective still hasn't been met for that zone) and they could use some variety (like just webbing a purse snatcher, posing for selfies with fans, etc).
The world is vast, it's the entire island of Manhattan with many iconic landmarks available (both real and fictional) to see (Radio City Music Hall, the Flat Iron building, Daily Bugle, Avengers Tower, etc). I have to admit, I was so impressed by this I went to the street behind the Empire State Building to see if Legends was there (even though I didn't expect it to be).
The gameplay itself is fun although I find times where the dodging is not as responsive as it should be (yelling that "I hit my fricking dodge button!" doesn't seem to help either) and wall-crawling onto a surface that changes direction (like going around a corner, for example) is not intuitive.
Overall though, I've enjoyed it (and still am). It's a bit of GTA's sandbox meets Arkham Asylum's fighting style... but with webs added to it.

Ancient Egypt was awesome to explore.

haven't played it yet but I'm looking forward to it. I hear great things about it from not here.
If you played one Spider-Man game you’ve played them all. It’s the same button mashing fighting game that’s been around for years. Nothing innovative to it. shite, I’m pretty sure The Spider-Man 2 game on GameCube and ps2 had a longer list of attacks Spider-Man could use
