Do you think they'll cater to fans more?

Assuming they buy the rights to the name, multiple indie companies have the resources to craft a fine game here. Hell, keep the same formula.

Just enhance dynasty mode. Give us sway over our offensive and defensive coordinators.

And for Gods sake, give the defense the awareness to go after a scrambling QB instead of STANDING IN THE END ZONE AND WATCHING.

That's right you guys. This whole thing was a setup to my melt after losing to OSU in the final minute of the championship because my top defense watched his arse walk into the end zone.

Ruined my Old Dominion dynasty.

There is a team working on it. They didnt get the fund from kick starter goal thpugh, so they have to start from the ground and its gonna take longer they said.

I'm really surprised that 2K hasn't gone into this venture, but I guess they're so hurting for money that NBA is their only sports game, which is funny since they buried one of the longest sports franchises out there with that, and NHL 2K wasn't all that bad either

i think the main issue is whether these companies want to shell out licensing fees, and deal with the push back from athletes etc

the athletes that fought this opened a can of worms, and the result was no game

There's ways around those issues in just allowing the gamers themselves to edit those things. Hell, this guy has 41 college teams in NBA 2K17:

Now yeah, the arenas are basically the same outside of the logos and color schemes, but if you give the gamers the ability to edit stadiums, player likeness and so forth, it can get done

I'm curious to see what the "next" NCAA game turns out to be feature-wise. It'll probably be a bare bones type game

People keep saying EA won't do it, but it is possible they are working on one and just haven't said anything. I do believe that if there is money to be made, and they can skirt the legal issues, it will be done.

EA will probably just stick with Madden. It's harder to make a game mode like Madden Ultimate Team using college players since they wouldn't be able to pay them licensing fees and the game mode wouldn't really be enticing without real player names. Since EA is all about adding micro-transactions to every game it makes now, they probably wouldn't see a NCAA game as being worth it to them.

Players have been crowdsourcing the rosters all along.

The indie company should start out by making a game with dynasty mode, recruiting, the player's choice of bowl/playoff systems, the ability to realign the conferences, and maybe some features like cheating in recruiting with the risk of getting busted.

The graphics and gameplay can be at a Tecmo level in the beginning. Expand the playbooks and graphics later.

Please pardon the threadjack, but how does one go about doing this? Asking for a friend.

Yeah, but then you are making a generic football game with generic/made up teams....saying, "here customers, make the rosters and stadiums yourselves"

Users change "LSU RB #7" to Leonard Fournette and give him the correct height, weight, birthday, etc. Other users download the edited roster.

LF7 is a bad example since there's no longer a game but that's how it was done.

Here's a YouTube video about custom rosters.

I think they had something like that in NCAA 14 using NFL alumni. It did have the picture of the players in their college uniform though so that may be an issue

There is this little thing called a "game engine", which can be quite costly and doesn't have a slider for the graphics to go from Atari to UE4

They still do them for NCAA 14, this year's rosters.
