Free or 32 after tax for the introductory whatever ripoff pack these FTP games do to you to begin with.

Decent game to pass your time on the occasion?

Smite was the best MOBA to me. It had more freedom than LoL and DoTA typically, in terms of roles on teams.

I still play Smite on a weekly basis. It was the only MOBA I stuck with. I’ve enjoyed it a lot over the past few years

BTW, that $30 is to unlock all the current and future characters. It’s a much better deal than most MOBAs offer (or offered, most are dead). Try the game out a bit, if you think you’ll play it more then the $30 is money well-spent

Smite is the 3rd person MOBA?

I play LoL on occasion and have been meaning to play it for a couple years but haven’t gotten around to it

Yeah, isometric-ish.

Smite is 3rd Person Over the Shoulder.

Yea it’s 3rd person. I can’t stand the clicking on LoL. Controlling 3rd person is much more natural for me

This is definitely true, and has been taken to an extreme as of late. There are 5 classes, and 5 roles. Every role has at least 2 viable classes, and a majority have 3 or even 4. There’s a lot of freedom

3rd person perspective also adds to character kits. Some characters can leap over walls, and some can fly into the air. So you feel the 3rd dimension in movement in a number of characters

And with Smite they have good casual modes in addition to the competitive modes, so you can play as casually or competitively as you want. I have friends who play once a month and do the casual modes and just have a blast. I play weekly and have been competitive in ranked in the past

All o this.

I was competitive for awhile as well. I think Smite is the only game where I really enjoyed the Carry. I hated carries in LoL, probably because of clicking...but Anhur with leaps and pins....he was a beast a few years ago.

Support are also more fun in Smite as they typically have really useful CC.
