"No Greater Glory" was a great turn-based Civil War grand strategy game from that era. It holds up well and I still play it from time to time.





Another great one was Sid Meier's Colonization, also a 90's turn-based strategy game:

It got an update using the Civ IV engine in 2008 and that was fairly faithful to the original.
