From Software's mysterious stealth focused action-adventure, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, will no doubt be a big change of pace for fans of the stoic Souls series. While we're still largely in the dark about how the new game will fit the developer's familiar Souls formula into the mold of a stealth-action game, we at least know when we can get our hands on the full game. Releasing next year on March 22, the Dark Souls developer's new take on the stealth-action sub-genre will make its debut on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Nice. I've missed a lot of the Gamescom stuff today, but I've heard the trailer for this and DMC5 were great.

It's crazy how in the next 12 months there will be an avalanche of great games I want.

In the prior 12 months I think the only game I got was God of War.

In the next full year I will definitely be getting

Dragon Quest XI
Red Dead Redemption II
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Devil May Cry 5
Sekiro
Doom Eternal
Nioh 2

And in the maybe pile

Spiderman
Days Gone

Probably will be a record for most new releases I've ever bought in a year long period.

Finally got around to watching the gamescon stuff on it.

Looks good of course.

I'm slightly put off by all the bars all over the place. You got your health bar, the enemy health bar, but also the "balance" bars for both you and the enemy.

Also all the prompts and indicators all over the place for doing your movements and stuff. There's also like enemy indicator arrows and stuff, it's just very busy. Maybe that was just the tutorial area? Maybe you can turn some of it off? I dunno.

These things are probably necessary by design, seems this game will be much more arcadey than prior FromSoftware titles. I don't think it's supposed to be nearly as atmospheric as those past souls like games. There also seems to be a lot more music too. Music in the Souls type games is used pretty sparingly, usually just boss fights or very specific areas.

Them making a different sort of game is probably a good thing, I just love the Souls type games so much it's hard for me to not want it to be like them.
