Friends,

Cousin loved his Sega Genesis back in the 1990s. He played that game box for hours, especially Echo the Dolphin. Cousin is now 40 something, has kids, and a successful career. He is a notoriously difficult friend and family member for whom to shop for Christmas. I'm sure you know the type of person who has what seems like everything. When you dutifully buy him a gift he is polite, but his body language communicates the question, "Why did you buy me anything?"

Today, I came across an advertisement on Amazon for Sega Genesis mini for $32. It includes Echo the Dolphin. My question is for 40 something year old video game players: Do you think this would be a good gift, or do you think this is the sort of thing adults mature past, like a security blanket, and if given now would be mocked? If not this, I'll probably get him a Pendleton wool jacket.
