Does anyone here have any experience with retro handhelds? I stumbled onto this scene the other day and ended up buying the RG350M. If anyone has one or something similar, how difficult was the setup and which one did you get? Mine is coming from China so I'm sure it will be a few weeks out.

You can do A LOT with a soft-modded PSP, food for thought.

Just google about it, if you're interested.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've modded several systems, including the PSP, and I'm not crazy about the thumbstick on the PSP or the feel of the buttons. It has always felt pretty fragile to me. As far as modded name brands, the 3DS was my favorite, but it was also the biggest pain. I ended up losing it, and I don't want to go through that process again.

Ahh, you're way more into this than I am I will admit, the handheld that you posted looks very nice and VERY well built!

I'm getting pretty hyped for it. I've been using Skraper to build directories with pictures for each of my games (see below). I should be able to set it up so I can scroll through these images to choose the game I want to play instead of just scrolling through a bland menu. I've also been going through all my rom files and deleting everything that I won't ever play so I'll only be scrolling through quality games.

The RG350M came in today. I had done a lot of prep work to get images setup for all my roms, and I was able to get everything setup how I wanted it on the stock firmware in a couple hours. It's pretty great. It's by far the most solid construction I've ever seen from a handheld. The name brands don't come close.

Can’t you do a lot of that with a modified Vita? Being able to play some PS4 games in the next room is really attractive.

You can, but I own a Vita, and it honestly feels like cheap plastic crap in comparison. The buttons and the analog stick suck, and the d-pad is horrendous.

Original or slim? I thought the 20xx model improved ergonomics.
