Cannot wait! Comes out two weeks after DOOM Eternal. It's about to get nuts in Spring...

Should I play the first two or are these games that you can just play because they don't really have any backstory?

Most resident evils have a connected narrative, but it’s not super necessary.

Resident evil 3 is heavily tied to the events of Resident evil 2. Same setting, 3 starts off before and ends after the events of 2.

3 features Jill who is one of the playable characters from 1.

But ultimately, creepy pharmaceutical company does shady experiments. Shady experiments bring town to its knees. You need to escape city. The rest is just window dressing.

Oh okay. I'll probably just skip it then because it sounds boring

Thanks.

It's too dang much at once! March/April there are 6 likely awesome games coming out in a 6 week span. It's the most games that I've wanted condensed into the smallest time I can ever remember.

Some of those games are going to be very large too, like Cyberpunk is probably one of those 100-200 hour games.

I don't like jumping between playing multiple games personally. I like to fully engross myself in 1 game at a time, fully complete it, then go on to another game.

I'll probably do Doom Eternal first, RE3 second, and save Cyberpunk for 3rd. The others are just gonna have to wait.

How are they ground breaking? Didn't they just come out?

Re1 and re2 are great games. And they are iconic because the originals were released in the ps1 era. The remakes do a good job of cleaning them up. Re1 feels very similar to its original counterpart but 2 and 3 have had some changes to make them feel more like action games while retaining their original horror themes.

If you end up playing out of sequence and like re3, 2 uses the same engine so it will likely feel very similar.

Re1 feels much different because of fixed camera angles but it’s probably one of the best games of that style. Very atmospheric game but it feels nothing like the remakes for 2 or 3.

Any idea what this Resident Evil: Resistance 5 player MP coming with the game is? My friend said he's seen streamers play this - is it already out on something and just coming to Steam with RE3?

Asymmetric multiplayer. No connection to the single player. Presumably tied into the same setting and themes but 4 players are humans while 1 player is a mastermind who sets traps for said humans. I believe the mastermind can assume control of bows and attack humans, as well.
