Yeah any enemey you can avoid easily, you should avoid. Kill enemies in highly trafficked areas or when you are corned.

Finished Leon’s A. Game speeds up considerably if you don’t try to kill everything.

This game is terrifying

I haven’t seen Mr. X yet face to face, but I’m pretty sure I got a glimpse of him at one point (won’t spoil anything). It’s given me a couple hints in the last hour that make me feel like he’s about to pop up any second. Had to save it and take a break lmao

About 30 mins in and no way in hell am I doing hard-core. These fricking zombies take at least 4-6 shots to take down. Then they get back up. I'm trying to run way more than shoot when I can.

And holy shite my first experience with a licker was a doozy. Thank Christ I had the shotgun already or I was toast. I was still pretty close to that anyway.

Just hit a wall trying to get to the 3rd talisman deal. Hitting the hay to see if I can get fresh eyes on what I might be missing.

I mentioned the lack of soundtrack earlier.

Well, apparently the "Deluxe" version of the game has an option to enable the classic RE2 soundtrack and it includes making the menu noises old school as well.

When in doubt use the red/blue room indicators on the map. I think they way they implemented makes it makes it a little too easy to avoid getting lost actually. I think they should have only had it work that way on assisted mode, but whatever, it's still less handholding than most games these days.

That shite was annoying considering I had no ammo going into that fight.

I've been using those. A lot of rooms I'm down to have lockers I need a combo too. Are you finding the combos generally in the same area? Or way out the way

The stuff hidden in locked lockers and safes is all optional, no key items, just extra ammo, weapon upgrades, and inventory pouchs. There to award people who search and explore.

You gotta pick up files to get most of them, develop film for others, or just pay attention to white boards around the station for others.

Without spoiling anything, what’s the difference between scenario A & B? Is it the same story but just way harder?

Yeah B seems harder, Mr X shows up earlier and there are a bunch of enemies in inconvicnent places that aren't there in A.

I did Leon A -> Claire B for my first go, Claire's weapon selection sucks compared to Leon. Gonna do Claire A -> Leon B here in the next few days to see how it compares.

Unlocked 4th Survivor game, very fun, just sorta of a non-stop action packed gauntlet. I only gave it one go so far, died maybe a little over half way through it. A lot of it is memorizing enemey locations.

They are two sides of the same story that are supposed to compliment each other. If you'll notice in the explosion at the beginning and they each get thrown to one side of the car crash and separated so they each have their own unique path through the world.

The game is maybe 75% the same across both scenarios, but each scenario has certain specific areas only accessible to it. Also how you "flow" through the police station is different, as some keys items are in different locations and picked up in different order. Claire also has her own set of weaponry distinct from Leon.

In the original they had a "zapping" mechanic where your B play through was effected directly by what you did in A. Like there were items you could choose to pick up or leave in A, and whether or not you got them determined if they were available in B. They did away with that mechanic in the remake though.

In order to see the game from every possible angle you gotta do 4 play throughs (L-A,C-B and C-A,L-B). Which isn't that overwhelming because once you learn the game a full play though is like 5'ish hours even casually.

One neat thing they added in this remake is a Results screen which shows your best rank in each of the 4 playthroughs for both Standard and Hardcore. (will unlock after you beat the game once on any mode)

They made ranking solely time based this time. In the original it was not only based on time but also how many times you saved and how many Health Sprays you used (Herbs could be used no penalty, sprays hurt your ranking).

Thanks! That clears up a lot for me. I’m still slowly working my way through Leon A. I’m so close to my first encounter with X, I just know it. I’ve been stalling all morning hesitant to play about to play it now tho

Yep I'm absolutely stuck. I've checked every single room again. I've got a battery and the red jewel and need either the jack for the library or crank for the roll up door.

Glad I read this because I would have assumed to play the As together.

Don’t sweat it, he quickly goes from scary to annoying. Hoping they patch him to rein him in a bit
