I used a canakit for the first one I setup for emulation. Makes it easy. Its cheaper if you buy everything separate, but it's not a huge savings.

Not sure what you are planning on doing with it but you might want a bigger micro SD if you are emulating Playstation games.

The price isn't terrible, I guess that's a quality psu.

I don't use SD cards anymore. I boot from USB drives. They have faster read and writes.

I also suggest getting a fan I. The future. Will post a recommendation.

The Pi4 gets pretty damn hot and thermal throttles at times.

Will come back tomorrow and post links to get started.

It's awesome for projects. I have about 20 Pis. I love em. They aren't perfect for everything but has so much support, makes it easy to get into.

How can Coyote not see a “crysis max settings” joke and not get it?

Yeah I got you, you mentioned "learning" so my mind was 100miles from gaming.

I can get like that sometimes.

It is awesome for learning. SBCs in general, are cool, then you add to the fact they are cheap and disposable (most anyway, I have some $200 SBCs).

They have really opened me up to all sort of things. My current project is setting up multiple Pis throughout the property to catch a cat I think is coming into our yard. Will be using TensorFlow and MotionPi for identification. and tracking. The Pis will all be linked to each other by wifi but only one can get a connection because of local.

Really need to get a 3D printer for these things but it wouldn't get used enough. A lot of "specialized cases are needed in these builds but I just hack stuff together from lowes. The issue is they take up more room and not always pretty on the eyes.

"Cat tracker"

I need to open my mind to all the things that are possible. Part of the "learning" piece I think.

Really impressed by the PS1 emulation on this thing. N64 emulation needs work.

Wish I could figure out a way to get Retroarch to recognize some games that are in fact roms like DBZ Hyper Dimension and Dragon Quest V. They work fine when you "load content," but I would like to have them listed by console.

maybe I"m doing it wrong but when I try to change BIOS directory, Retroarch doesn't recognize my USB Thumb drive. It does recognize it when I scan for ROMs however.
