re: PS4 Madden Franchise - (Year 2 - Week 12)

Alright, this is a bit too much.

I can't take sides because I did not watch the game, and at the moment it's a "he said, he said" situation. I have yet to play the Ravens, so I can't personally say if his play calling is "cheesing."

All I've gathered in the past from other users is that he is a very good player, so those who have played him feel free to chime in.

In the grand scheme of things, this is only one game in a very long season. Both of y'all are legit, active users and I don't want y'all to be discouraged from the franchise because of stupid shite. Y'all will both be in the playoffs. If y'all are matched up again then I will for sure be watching the stream.

Also as far a streaming...If you do it, use those lowest quality setting or SD for streaming. You have to have top of the line Internet to stream in HD without getting lag. I have the best Internet Uverse offers and I've had trouble streaming in the past. User games in Madden are a nightmare, for both parties, when the game is laggy.

I'm also going to give purple a chance to play his game tomorrow since I didn't get the memo until late that the Broncos needed to go on auto. Sorry about that.

Hey guys. I am in a Madden Franchise with some friends. Was just curious about a few things in the offseason.

Can anyone give me a breakdown on how it runs? How does Free Agency work? How about the draft?? Will we all have to be online at the same time to make the draft move, or do you just make a pick, then wait it out until the user is able to get on and make his pick?

There is a difference in exploiting it and running the same thing over and over again.

If he was exploiting my man coverage by running outs/hitches or what not that is fine.

This was a literal every drive for him with the exception of the first drive, his first drive was a great one.

Personally I do not like tosses, on this madden they work ridiculously well, if you run it here and there that is fine, it isn't completely taking advantage of AI.

Running it consistently out of damn near the same formation every time to the point where it was multiple times per drive is taking advantage of it.

Offensively running trips to one side then rolling out with your qb is kind of a shitty way to play IMO.

His defense is great, I think he runs a great scheme and I have no comments on that, he is obviously a really good player.

My problem was his offense was wildcat, wildcat, toss, toss, qb roll outm qb roll out, while these can be stopped it was an every down thing.

Yes he ran a 91 yard up the middle dive in the second half, simply because he really only ran tosses so I overloaded his strong side to prevent that and he busted it.

I would not have quit if it wasn't for the shite at the end of the first half, 38-14 lined up for a 50 yard FG with 0:05 left in the half then take a delay of game to throw a hail mary.

That's just douchey.

Look I am ok losing, not a big deal. I believe the patriots beat me last year, I did not bitch on here about it, he played me straight up and won. No big deal.

Last year in the playoffs he would punt line drive punts to take advantage of AI then found out that he could exploit the screen game on me, to which he did an excessive amount in the second half.

I am just not going to play that user again, I will go on auto and he can have a free win, even in the playoffs. I have played an excessive amount of users in here and have not had a single bad thing to say about how they have played except for Ducks. And as far as I can tell nobody on here has had problems with the way I play.

That is the last I will talk about this.

So, say I pick 10th and another user picks 12th. I make my pick and then have to advance. The CPU will then pick and then it will be on the other user. The game will stop right there until he makes his pick?? So, if he's not on he will be able to get on 2 hours later, make his pick, and then I hit advance again?

Am I reading into this right? I understand how getting everybody together to do it all at once would be the best option, but is it the only option is what I'm getting at??

Yeah. Just make sure to PAUSE the draft, If you don't hit pause, I believe there's 1:30 to make each selection. I play an online franchise with my brother and that's how we do it. Or we get on at the same time and go through the whole thing. Also, make him a co-commish so he can advance the draft to the next pick.

This!! This will be my last piece. I didn't mean to throw you into this but I've played you three times and you've gotten better and played me tough this season.

Really in Madden there's skill and players. My OL, I have two 99 Pass Blockers, like two 95 Pass blockers and a 90 pass block rookie. I CAN sit in the pocket all day and I do. After a few seconds, I usually look to roll out because I don't want to be sacked. If I sit in the pocket, I can have 3-4 four guys come at me from any direction. If I roll out after making my first few reads, I buy myself 1) Time and 2) only one rusher to elude if he gets off his block (The DE on the side I roll to) and against three man rushes, my OT and OG will often double team the DE and knock him down. Now I have a FREE running lane I can use or I can run out there and get the CB to come down. I honestly don't see the big fuss here. If my OL was shitty, I would've been sacked, just like Johnny Football was. If you want to stop them from running just put a guy in QB spy or blitz an extra guy. It's common sense.

The Wildcat can be a good formation. I have a 90 run blocker and a ~93 or so run blocker on the edge and a blocking TE. That is exactly why I can toss with an 88 speed RB. Last season, I was dead last in rushing yards by a wide margin. I got the guys and added new plays to my arsenal (such as the WC and toss) and If I did call WC or toss as much as claimed, I would've had many more attempts. I had like 15 rush attempts to 13 pass attempts. The reason why my plan worked so well, he started selling out for what I was doing the previous play, not reading what I lined up in the current play. It just doesn't make sense to throw at PP or Slay all game.

I think I've defended myself here. Hopefully you guys understand. He got frustrated and yeah I probably could've just tried the FG at the end of the half. I missed on my Hail Marry. Is it that big of a deal with a 31-14 score? My FG would've been short. I know you guys watched the SB.. I had a 10-0 lead and lost 13-27. Stranger things have happened.

And in that game, the cowboys ran traps on me most of the game. I could've complained but as Spunky noted, he found an exploit in my defense. John Jenkins wasn't getting off the line of Scrimmage and his pulling blocker would often pin Von Miller/Leonard Williams. This resulted in gains of 4-7 yards a pop. I grabbed Kyle Williams and added a better run defender through the draft to put next to Von. So far, I've stuffed tosses ran against me early in the season against the users I played and in this game I stopped all inside runs.

ETA: At what point does this become nitpicking as well? After I beat you guys I can type up a report that you guys line up in shotgun way too much compared to NFL standards, or don't rush enough even though you're getting 2 ypc against my front 7. Or that I face mostly guys who throw Corner routes or slant routes 90% of the time to the TE.
