they should give you a discount if you tell them your going to leave
I assume for that price you have all the premium channels?

My signal didn't even so much as flicker during all these storms. The power went out so my signal pretty much sucked then but damn if I don't love it.

yeah, anyone saying "good luck watching tv when theres a drizzle or a slight breeze" is mistaken
only issues i've had is if it was really really cloudy, and thats only been a few times that i've noticed it lose signal over the year and a half i've had it

But I do have some "cool" channels, like Science, some of the offshoot Discovery channels, NatGeo, MLBN, NFLN, Epix, The Golf Channel, Fox Sports 1, NBC Sports, etc...I actually watch those channels more than the normal channels. And I think I'll get the SEC Network.

If they can knock my monthly bill down, I don't see a reason to. I'm happy with their service and I have no problems when I make service calls.

My wife loves her movie channels so it was a no-brainer for me to switch.....dtv is so much cheaper

they are all a wash once your contract runs out
no one is that significantly cheaper
i just think DTV is easier to deal with....i called a couple months ago and asked to get rid of all premiums except HBO, because i knew it would lower my bill by 22 dollars
he said, how about I discount your bill 17 bucks for the next 6 months and you keep it all
i was like, "well, alright"

My Cox bill went up from 195 to 230 after some discounts went out. (I have the 25mb internet, all channels, and phone service w/ bells and whistles). After doing the math over the entire year, DTV was not any cheaper than keeping cox (included losing my bundle for keeping only cox internet, because frick DSL). After the DTV discounts went away, it was actually more per month overall.
So, I call Cox and say, lower my internet, drop my phone bells and whistles and remove my premiums. I need to lower my bill. She goes away, comes back, says "How about you keep everything and your new bill is 171". I said, yep. She says, "Call me back in 12 months and we'll see what else we can do".

there are so many people out there....like my parents...that probably just pay every month and think its ok
all you gotta do is call, and ask
they aren't going to call you and offer the discounts, thats a fact

False. I just got HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax for free. They called me and hooked it up. It's limited and if I forget to cancel it I'm boned for $30 more a month at least, but still, frick you.
