PS3 Fan Replacement

My old PS3 fat 40gb has been sitting up for a while. When I go to use it now, the fan sounds like it is going to explode and I'm looking at replacing it
Looking online, all I can find are used fans on eBay.
Does anyone here have experience changing these fans out and are used fans reliable?

I just took my ps4 apart to clean out the fan. shite sounded like an airplane about to take off. After I cleaned it, like brans new.
I'd try to clean it before buying a new fan. Can of compressed air and you're good to go

Get a can of air, open up the PS3 and fire away. Almost certain to be a pile of dust in there.

probably easier just to buy a new PS3 now

Thanks guys.
I will try cleaning it first.
Makes sense that it could be dusty especially with it not being used in a while

Your fan is probably fine it's just having to work harder. Open up the ps3 and clean it as well as you can using canned air.
