I've snuck up on quite a few tanks but what the frick am I gonna do? Defib it to death? I've only used Assault and fricked with Recon for about two lives. It was nice to pop someone in a full sprint with just the right aiming point.

go to accessory settings and play with the input/ output/ and sensitivity and it should be easy to figure out
