I'm good for lunch tomorrow
Gotta start shedding these holiday pounds
Even considering joining a gym

There's an input volume in the ps3 menu that you can adjust
Just wait for feedback from someone playing with you on how it sounds
There are 2 sliders on the headset, one for volume and one for mix
The mix lets you decide how loud you want the game audio vs the chat audio
I usually like the chat a little louder so the game doesn't drown people out
Thanks man. I appreciate it and I'll try it out when I get home today. All I had time to do yesterday was get them out of the box before heading to Mobile. But, my wife is still down there spending time with her sister and mom so I have plenty of time until I head back down Friday to test them out. I do like that they're wireless and they look pretty good too.

Took me a while to figure out how to turn them on
You have to push the left strap against your head until it clicks a little
Kinda weird and the instructions confused me for some reason

I'm assuming you are talking about the Official Sony PS3 headset? If so, I love mine.
When I set mine up, all I did was plug the usb dongle in and it connected right away. I never went into the PS3 settings to adjust volume or anything from what I remember.
I usually keep the sound/voice slider on the voice side so the game doesn't drown out the chat. Also, I would make sure to push the virtual surround sound button on the top left ear piece.

yeah these right here....
I sent my wife the link that Croacka sent me from the amazon.com listing but she said she was worried about them getting here before Christmas so she went to Target to look for them and they had them on sale for the same price so she got them.
I also noticed that they didn't come with a charging cable, but luckily I have a usb cable that will fit them. Can I just plug that into the PS3 to charge them or can I plug them into say an iPhone wall charger?

yeah, any standard mini usb connector will charge them. I just use one of my controller chargers plugged in the PS3. A charge usually will last a good 6-8 hours.
Not sure about the iPhone charger though.

Any USB outlet should work, just like a controller
I have a long one since it sometimes goes out while I'm playing. I don't plug it in to charge every night

Yeah I wouldn't plug it in unless it was going dead. I think the cord I have is a standard 3ft cord so I might have to get a longer one.

sounds good.
I appreciate the info and the link you sent me to begin with.
I didn't think the wife would go for it but I guess she would rather be able to sit in the living room or do work and grad school homework without listening to guns and grenades.

The PS3 USB will charge them just fine. USB 2.0 uses 1.5A output, which should be what the PS3 USB ports are. The iPhone charger uses a 1A output, so it will safely charge your headset, but it may take a little bit longer. Just for comparison, an iPad charger uses 2.1A output. This will charge faster, but over time, you could damage the device if is isn't rated for that amperage.

So charging my iPhone on my iPad charger isn't advised?
Oops
I hopes the phone could regulate that to protect itself
