I agree. That one pure shot you hit every round or so is what keeps me going back.
I also don't think that people look at what you're really doing when playing golf.
You're hitting a ball that is 1.5 inches roughly in diameter and weighs no more than a couple ounces. It's being struck with a club that has a face a few inches in size. You are placing this ball in a hole that is 4 inches or so in size. At 400 yards away you can accomplish this in four swings or less.

it was a generalization of golf, not a description of my game.
mine would be: 400 yards away, drive ball into trees, save my arse with a punch shot, blade chip but get lucky kick off side of green, sink 8 foot putt to save par. next hole bogie, next hole birdie, next hole triple or quad, next hole eagle. rinse and repeat until hole 15 when i run out of juice
eta: speaking of golf, i have a $50 card to EW. hmm what to do

I usually shoot 88-95. But every once in a while I'll have a 105 round.
