seriously, could it have fricked it up? If so, I will never turn it on when the weather is shitty

I'm not 100% certain, but if I'm correct, console damage would result only in the event of a power surge.

Forgive me if this presents itself as a stupid question, but do you have a surge protector?

I have one that is also backed by battery. It was well worth the $50.00. In the untimely event of a power surge, I have 5 minutes to properly shut down any device connected to the surge protector; and it comes equipped with an alarm to alert me of a power outage.

Well CW12 hasnt done his stuff but he has been MIA.

Well, you have to think... how many times has the power gone off while the tv has been on, or some other home appliance has been in service? That shite happens to me all the time. So far, my electronics have sustained no damage as a result of a power outage. When I worked at Best Buy some years ago, they told me that the only time a device will completely go to shite on you would be if a surge takes place, so this is just a relayed message from the folks over there.
