I have a decent Internet connection and I've watched several Netflix streamed HD movies and they look great. THe only drawback is Netflix hasn't figured out how to pump 5.1 yet so while the movie is HD, you're only getting 2-channel stereo for audio.
And for those who say PS3 has "no problems"
I bet these are the same tools saying Apple computers don't have security issues. I think its because the irrational hatred for Microsoft from the Apple kool-aid drinkers carries over into their choice for gaming consoles.
There are remarkable similarities between Sony and Apple..and their sheep. Throw out a few techno-doo-dads that demonstrate 'superiority' and those pseudo-intellectuals jump all over their "persecuted LEET systems that the luddites don't understand" = instant rabid followers. Why everyone knows that the Mac is "practically perfect in every way" and that the PS3 has the Xbox beat in every techno dick-measuring contest on the planet.

had them both go with the PS3. People rave about xbox online, it is not that much different at all. PS3 looks better on my 52 inch and blue ray is amazing. Nothing wrong with a 360 but all my friends have switched to a PS3

You can get Netflix on the PS3 as well if you buy PlayOn media Server and if you buy it you can get Hulu as well.
PlayOn works with PS3 and Xbox 360 and its well worth $30 for either console.
Also the wife acceptance factor is much better on the PS3 because it looks 100X better next your 52 inch LCD than the xbox does. It looks like it belongs there, but the xbox looks like it belongs in the kids room.

Depends
360 has better games and is better for online play. Yeah you have to pay for the service but it comes out to 5 bucks a month and its FAR better then PS3's
PS3 does have a Blu-ray, that's all worth bragging about.

X-box 360 is gonna break and controller sucks can't touch PS3. If your under 10 then get a Wii. PS3 has Blu-ray and great games and amazing graphics and great online

1.) No one even brought up Apple so your beef with them stems from something deeper than this thread.
2.) PS3's problems don't even compare to the 360's.
If both systems had the same games the PS3 would be beating the crap out of the 360.

You're right, the PS3 was way over budget, way behind schedule and Sony is still losing an incredible amount of money on each unit sold even at the ridiculous price points they're currently seeling at.

Yeah well if your aunt had a dick she'd be your uncle. IF they had the same games and IF everything was equal doesn't matter because they don't have the same games and everything isn't equal. They're game systems what's important is the games. The PS3 has plenty of great exclusive games and it's still not selling. Maybe next time Sony will realize that when the average person buys a game system they want to play games and they couldn't care less about all the extras that are thrown in. Doesn't this show you that people don't care about the PS3? The 360 has had a ton of issues yet people would rather buy a 360 over a PS3.

The PS2 did well because of it's game library which is the same reason the 360 is beating the PS3. So we have the PS2 with a great game library and it flew off the shelves. The PS3 doesn't have a great game library and it sits in stores and collects dust. Do you see a pattern? Great games = great sales.

Unfortunately for the PS3, the excluivity that the PS2 had is just not there for the PS3. There are some good ones sure, but let's compare the # of bigger ones.

killzone 2 and the show 09 are two of the more recent ps3 exclusives that come to mind--truth be told, there is nothing unfortunate about the lack of ps3 exclusives. i own a handful of games that exist on both platforms, along with some ps3 exclusives that actually informed my decision to buy a ps3. the ps3 exclusives were simply more appealing to me. in fact, most of the 360 exclusives that you've listed are being ported, or are available to play on my pc if i just have to have them. so i made a purchase informed (in part) by this personal opinion--the 360 has more exclusives, but the ps3 has more appealing exclusives.

yeah, and the show, and killzone 2, the uncharted games, the rachtet and clank games, and the upcoming ff13 spinoff game, "versus". there is also a kick-arse strategy/rpg called valkyria chronicles that is a ps3 exclusive.
i won't mention the socom game for ps3 because it actually sucks. but the others were well-received by critics.

i think you also have to note: the ps2 had a 1 year head start on the xbox, sony was a known entity among game developers whereas ms was not yet, and nintendo basically sat the 6th generation console wars out.

This is definitely a matter of opinion, because imo nothing could be further from the truth. The only exclusive that PS3 has that interests me is Metal Gear and God of War.
I absolutely MUST own a 360 for games like Gears of War, Mass Effect, Ninja Gaiden 2, Halo 3, and Fable 2.
This is the same reason why I actually liked the 1st Xbox. Games like Fable, Halo, and KOTOR.

see, i have no desire to play god of war 3 and wasn't into god of war 2 :-P but yeah, like you said it's all a matter of preference. technically, though, one can play gow1, mass effect 1 and 2, and the halo games on the pc. and ninja gaiden 2 is being ported to the ps3.
