Sony claims leaks haven't affected TLoU2 preorders
quote:
Sony has confirmed that despite early leaks spoiling several key plot points of the upcoming The Last of Us Part 2, preorders remain healthy.
PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan further added in an interview with CNET (via VGC) that in Europe, preorder demand of the sequel is outstripping that of Marvel's Spider-Man at the same point before its launch. Widely considered one of the greatest PS4 exclusives, Sony purports Marvel's Spider-Man remains the best-selling superhero game' in US history.
"We hope this'll be a defining game for this generation," Ryan said, talking about The Last of Us Part 2.
Massive spoilers for The Last of Us Part 2 circulated last month. Video footage showing cutscenes and gameplay - including several pivotal scenes - were available to view online. Though the original videos were pulled from YouTube and Reddit by Sony, citing copyright concerns, other versions are still being linked elsewhere.
While initially it was thought a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee was behind the leaks, Sony recently confirmed that none of the individuals identified as responsible are affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Naughty Dog. A new report intimated The Last of Us Part 2 was allegedly leaked by hackers who'd infiltrated Naughty Dog's private servers. Its investigation is said to be ongoing.
The Last of Us Part 2 is set to release on 19th June 2020.

Didn’t want to make a new thread, but Sony is doing some two-week thing where various people talk about TLOU.
Today’s guest is Hannah Hart. Checks all the boxes. Alphabet member, support BLM, graduated from Cal Berkley, Green New Deal, Skrong Wamens, never played video games until TLOU. Code for “I’ve never played a video game in my life”.
Still gonna buy it, but sheesh
