I’d enjoy it being fully backwards compatible. I still have old ps1 games that never made the leap to digital, like Einhander, that I would still play on my PS3 on occasion.

I think what would be awesome is if this incorporated games purchased on any previous generation on PSN would be playable. So all my digital ps4 games would carry over to my potential ps5.

Pretty sure this is the path forward 100%. Xbox announced this at last E3 that is how it would work with future Xbox releases, so Sony will follow the same path.

I’m thinking it’s going to be extremely hard to make it backwards compatible with all PS3 games. Just my opinion. We shall see I suppose.

I know the Cell processor was a major PITA, but almost 20 years after it was developed, surely they can reverse engineer that shite in 2020.
