Still the most underrated Zelda title

Honestly, that's probably Zelda II TAOL. I went back and beat it again last month; for all the hatred it got, it's actually a pretty damn good game.

Wind Waker is my second favorite Zelda title. I remember it catching a lot of hell because of the art style, and sure it had it's drawbacks with the long sailing times before you got the ability to teleport. But it's story was just as captivating, if not more, than Twilight Princess. Because of the art style, I don't think Wind Waker will ever "age poorly".

To use a Batman analogy, Wind Waker was the Zelda the GameCube deserved but not the one it needed at that time. People really wanted to see a realistic Zelda in. The vein of Ocarina of Time done with GameCube graphics. Twilight Princess should've released first.

I was going to play through it immediately after Wind Waker, but I'm kind of burned out on Zelda at the moment.

Trust me. After beating a Zelda title, you've loved going through the adventure and story but it's just a sense of "finally" after you're done. I don't usually play Zelda games back to back because like you said, you get burnt out on them. You need to recover for the next one. Doesn't mean you don't love the series

I agree. Twilight Princess took you back to Hyrule and if it had been marketed as a Gamecube only game then we wouldn't have had to deal with the mirrored version of Hyrule (The main drawback for Twilight Princess for me). Releasing WindWaker right after OoT and MM was kind of odd because if you go by the timelines, it would have made more sense to release TP first because it follows the timeline of Link coming back as a child and leaving Hyrule. Then after TP you could have had, "Now this is what happened on the OTHER side of the timeline. Where Link went back in time but there was no hero to save Hyrule once Ganon came back".

You're right. It would have made more sense to release TP first. Never really thought about it until now.
