Can I get some tips on this game? I made it to the Shadow Yukiko boss and am completely lost 
What should I be doing after school? How often do I need to go to the dungeon, etc.

Improving your social links or improving the social stats (Academics, Charm, Courage, etc).

Ideally, you only do it once per area. Should gameplan to clear the whole dungeon and beat the boss in one go.

The upper floors of Yukiko's dungeon got really difficult in my first go around. I almost killed the boss at lvl 12, but somehow she one shotted my party leader (which is instant game over BS) even though he had almost full health and fire resist gear.

Improving those stats allows you to take certain actions (after school activities, some decisions are locked to being courageous enough/smart enough,etc) as well as allowing you complete social links. You'll hit road blocks or not even be able to start them if they're too low.
