I'm not for the desktop.. but can't wait to get an i7 for my new 2013 MBP. (Just because the 13" MBPs don't come with dedicated GPUs)

It would be a waste if you're upgrading from a 1155 socket. NOW LETS START HEARING MORE NEWS ON WHEN IVY-E DROPS!!!!!!

The sun worn me out today. We had fun redoing front yard landscaping. The Mexico Mexicans of USA should get paid more than what they do!

This thread takes me back. I had to quit PC gaming because it was an addiction for me. I would sit down for just a quick game, then 6 hrs would go by. The wife was like WTF?

We have a townhouse with a Coa that takes care of that for us for now. We have been looking at getting a bigger house though...

Said I wasn't, but I have the itch. I need to talk myself out of it.

I'd be moving from a 2600k running at 5.0GHz, to something that appears to provide about a 30% performance boost IF, big IF, it overclocks like my 2600k.

It would also be a move from PCIe 2.0 x8/x8 to PCIe 3.0 x8/x8.

But, it would be an excuse to do maintenance on my loop, and replace my XSPC rasa block with something else, and do a fresh Win 7 install... All of which I don't want to do without a compelling reason.

Just got in the Lenovo Y500 with dual Nvida 750m's, 16g of RAM and a i7. I never thought I could be getting these kind of results with a laptop, but then again I was using a Core2Duo before this.

Yeah is only a 16gb cache one though, still speeds things up.

Will be the first thing I upgrade.

Eagerly awaiting my 7950 so I took the time to remove ALL Nvidia drivers/system monitor/ntune. Regedit is my best friend. Also cleaned my cpu and h100i to try out some different thermal paste. Now running prime95 to see if it actually mattered.

Currently averaging 41c after about 20 minutes or so. About a 5 degree drop over the paste that came pre-applied to the h100i.

I'm not suprised personally. How much did that cost you? I was able to get a lenovo laptop with a 630m in the fall last year for under $500 which works great for me. I get to use my rig for serious gaming but that 630m allows me to play games on lower settings or older games on max if I am on the road. Sure beats the intel gma 950 graphics I had on my previous laptop
