yeah, well...

I play BF3 on high and get averages of 75fps (could be higher, but dxtory only maxes up to your monitors frame rates). On ultra I get around 55fps with dips down to 40. This is all on 1440p
I wish I could change the preset settings on ultra and turn down AA and MSAA

just gontoncustom setting and turn everything to ultra except AA and ambient occlusion( I believe that's what MSAA is under)

if you were buying again would that be the one you bought? I like the HIS but that cooler takes up 3 slots. I guess I could put it on the bottom when I crossfire though...

Have you tried returning to stock settings before you shut down to test it?
Update: Stock settings, problem still occurs, and more reliably so lately. I am 99% sure it's the motherboard, maybe a SATA port or the whole controller. Will start swapping ports and cables later this week. Too lazy to open my case tonight and the wife is having surgery early AM.

To support Blue.. TFIII and IV are the best coolers in the BIZZZZness.
Love MSI and love their Twin Frozens!

I have a test bench you could borrow?

3 slot coolers and xfire is not recommended IMO

Almost makes me feel bad about my Twin Frozr cooler just sitting in a drawer unused. Good cooler, but no match for the overclocks I desire.

you bastards, I had just settled on the HIS and you all come and do this to me!
ETA: my other x16 slot is in the 4th position. It's all good.

In xfire it'll only run at x8/x8 even if the slots are x16/x16

no I know. Oh, by the way, I was just reading on another forum that there's guys that are flashing the stock bios on the 7950 with a 7970 bios. Have you read into that at all? Seems that the only problem that they're having is that it's disabling the HDMI port though.
ETA: It's a gigabyte bios and this is for the HIS IceQ. I don't know if it's specific to the HIS and that's the reason I'm asking.

Missed this. Yes, if you're offering, I might take you up on that. Will see how things are looking this weekend.

Why the question marks?

Looks like 6GB Vram will become the new standard for each companies high end card and yet a few game devs said the PS4 and Xbox One are a generation ahead of PCs.
