For just $300 more you can lock yourself into 2160 instead of 1440. That 2160 monitor will be the top of tech for 3-4yrs when 1440 is making its way out.
The only issue is this monitor will sales for $699 @ 2160p/60Htz when for just $100 more you can purchase the ASUS for $799 @ 2160p/144Htz and THAT IS WITH G-SYNC!
Still will be buying 2 of the ASUS monitors when they drop. Maxwell needs to get here because my cards wont be able to handle Triple AAA titles @ 2160p.

Dell’s P2815Q Ultra HD Monitor
Last month Dell launched a pair of UltraSharp monitors boasting 4K resolution, and dangled a sweet carrot in front of our early adopting paws: a forthcoming 28-inch Ultra HD monitor that would retail for less than $1000. Today at CES 2014 Dell revealed it, along with an aggressive price tag: $699

I thought the same until owning 1440.
I just want a TRUE 1440/120 monitor, but those are like $1000. If I can get a 2160/144 monitor for just $799, then I will but into that and "future proof" it.

looking to get the QNIX QX2710 korean monitor
should I go matte or tempered glass (is tempered glass the same thing as glossy?)
it also says its a PLS monitor. I read that IPS and PLS are pretty much the same--is that true?
open to alternative recommendations if anyone has any

Basically. PLS is a Samsung panel and IPS is an LG panel

I like the look of glossy vs. any matte screen I've had (I currently use a matte ASUS 1080p as my secondary monitor).
As far as tempered glass vs. glossy, they are not the same. I've read that the tempered glass ones are more reflective and have the potential to come with dust trapped between the panel and the glass. I honestly don't know what the quality difference would be, but nothing I've read about them has ever given me a reason to choose the tempered glass over glossy or even matte.
PLS and IPS are essentially the same (two different technologies from two different companies, both with the same goal in mind), and you'll hear conflicting opinions on which looks best, but you won't know the difference coming from a regular TN panel, the same way I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between the ODAC and Modi.

Yep.
Glossy >>>>> Matte

Ive had both with my iMacs and MBPs.
Rather IPS over PLS just because of color accuracy. They are both accurate but IPS panels had been much easier calibrate if needed and more accurate. The GF and I do a little photography and color accuracy is #1 when dealing with human skin.

Who has LSU actually missed on in state in recent memory? Greg robinson and probably landon collins is all I can come up with.

Reed and Robinson both from my HS that they missed on. Even though Reed is turning to out to be a bust.
We had a couple #1 DL/DE and damn Collins for to BAMA. Also missed the #1 OL in our state and country, the West Monroe kid.

For both? That is low.
We will all recommend a mechanical keyboard, my recommendation is a Ducky Shine 3 w/ Black/Brown switches.
As for a mouse, I love the SteelSeries Sensei.

do you guys use hubs? i have my PC and my ps4 in the same room, but my router is in the next room. I have the PC plugged in hardwired, but i have to run wifi on my PS4. I was thinking a hub would help to avoid running another long ethernet cord across the house.
is this one any good? LINK
