you can get the Sapphire Dual X 7970 for the same price after MIR
Almost want to jump on that deal too and crossfire it in my system. Not sure if my NZXT 650W can handle it.

It could, but I wouldn't recommend it

yeah, what would the reco wattage be for a pair of 7950s or 7970s? 800w?

If you're a heavy OCer 800+. If you leave everything stock, probably get away with 700/750

This is my first year doing fantasy football. Our office started one up and we did our draft last Saturday. No clue what I was doing but that was a lot of fun.

Recommended is 750 for crossfire 7950s. I'm going to go higher. 850w-1000w since I OC a ton and my AMD chip fricking loves power.

Good idea. My overclocked 7970s have over 250w TDP a piece. With all the shite running in my system, I just decided to buy a Seasonic 1250w Gold. More than I need, but I'm expecting it to last me a while.
frick all these sales. I can't buy anything.

So let's talk about the "Windows Experience Index," that meaningless score assigned to your components.
I don't know why I care, but everything is at 7.9 except for my damn CPU, which is at 7.8. I'm not sure what it takes to get a 7.9, but I'm guess it probably has very little to do with actual performance. It's probably core count or something.

My CPU score is different depending on the overclock. Isn't there a synthetic benchmark that's built into the test?

i was actually wondering what it took to get a 7.9 cpu score. i7 3570 i suppose?

My score is still a 5.9 because I'm too cheap to buy a ssd.

holy shite man, have you looked at SSD prices lately? buy one today or you are going to be excommunicated from the master race.

Haha I know. It's just not on top of the priority list.

You mean i5-3570 or i7-3770? Either way, that ain't gonna do it because my 4770k at 4.7GHz is still getting 7.8.
I guess it does run some kind of synthetic benchmark, but it can't be worth a damn since the whole process takes only a couple of minutes to score every component. That's why I was curious how off-base it really is -- for example, if it were to give an 8320 or 8350 a 7.9 simply because it's sort of an 8-core processor.
I read somewhere that a guy running a dual-CPU setup with 6-core Xeons still got 7.8. Someone else claimed they got a 7.9 with a 6-core Intel at 5.6GHz. WTF, Windows.
Posted on 8/29/13 at 2:45 pm to ILikeLSUToo
My 8350 get. 7.7 at 4.5ghz.

or i7-3770?
yeah. that.
i wonder what a 3930s score would be. lets ask coyote
Posted on 8/29/13 at 2:59 pm to jcole4lsu
From what I've read, a 3930k gets 7.8 at stock and 7.8 at 4.8GHz. That's an elusive fricking tenth of a point. WHAT DO YOU WANT, WINDOWS!1

Yep, it's the great white buffalo.

Jcole. Bruce Vilanch sent me. He told me to ask you about the fantasy football league. I want to join.
