I can't wait for it to get here!!! I will play 2033 probably twice before it hits. I am worried that there won't be enough underground stuff since that is where I think the game shined.

Fahrenheit lol.

Coyote got me fixed up tho by setting a fan speed curve. Ran 3Dmark11 benchmark and it is doing much better.

I'll spend some extensive time testing out Bioshock tomorrow to ensure,

Celsius and the metric system make much more sense.

Damn a 100 degree spike in temps? Yeah no wonder.

Waiting for you to confirm you can do stuff in bioshock though before we pat ourselves on the back..hah

Well if you didn't have any problems with Portal then I am thinking this is a bioshock issue specifically. 160 Fahrenheit isn't all that extreme anyway. 160 celsius and your pc would have exploded. can you describe your problems again?

i play about 5 minutes of BioShock Infinite and it freezes, goes to a blank white screen, and I have to kill it from Task Manager.

I check Event Viewer and this is the warning I get:

"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

What Coyote and I have tried:
- Updated Mobo Bios
- "Clean installed" latest EVGA drivers
- Uninstalled and reinstalled BioShock Infinite
- Used EVGA PrecisionX to set a fan speed/gpu heat curve.
- Ran Benchmarks in 3DMark11. I scored in the mid 700's. and passed.

turn them all down to low or off, then hit reset?

Sounds like you got a bad card. Wasn't it "on special" from microcenter?

Yeah.....

What dour dourden said Klark. Something it doesn't like.. We know it isn't temps now.

We need to find your baseline or maybe you are capping above 1GB VRAM?

We need to monitor that.

nah. brand new. not refurbished or anything. i mean everything is about $10 cheaper from MicroCenter compared to NewEgg or TigerDirect.

weird thing is.
I got all the way to the point where I start using the grappling hook thing and pick up a machine gun.

i got there with no issues Friday. but since then i can't get make it any further

I was about to post that actually. Keep searching through those forums, someone will usually find a fix somewhere.

put everything on low. same thing.

positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts....

positive thought: graphics on Low, look better than xbox graphics.

doesn't make any sense.
- we know i no longer have a gpu heat issue. the fan is hardly speeding up compared to the 3DMark benchmark test.
- I ran Portal 2 for 2 hours yesterday, no issues.
- i got to "The Hooks" chapter of the game, on Ultra, without an issue at all.

maybe it was a bad batch of cards then... Idk

Dang bruh

That's some bs.

Googling your specific event viewer error log entry yielded mixed results from what I remember. its not even specific to evga650ti 2gbs.

That error is a win7 deal.

One of the onboard vram "sticks" may be bad it happens..electronics break.

Try setting your win7 desktop theme to "basic"..hah.
