What's the state of today's laptop GPUs? My daughter wants a laptop for Christmas. Looking to spend <$600. She plays Minecraft, Roblox, Sim games like Planet Coaster, and other low-graphics stuff. Not necessarily wanting her to have a "gaming laptop," but at least want the games to run smoothly (even if we run it at 720p).

Been looking at the MX150; seems to be offered in well balanced builds (15", i5, 8GB, SSD, 1080P, etc.). But I've been out of the hobby long enough that I know nothing of the Ryzen line, particularly the mobile CPUs and onboard GPUs.

I still wouldn't get mobile Ryzen.

Look at the Dell Gaming Inspirons. Think they are the G5 or G7s now.

Ryzen 1 and 2 has just been okay for mobile.

Unfortunately the 7nm mobile chips with Navi that are going to be unreal and a major advancement for mobile computing aren't until early 2020.

Yea, just okay. Intel still has the lead by a little on mobile.

AMD just mops the floor with Intel on desktop. So we think it carried over to mobile well but not so much.

Man I love the Gen1 foils.

Didn't even collect the shtt as a kid, began collecting as a 26yr old.

I did go to the card shows on Airline and Veterans every month. The late 90s and early 00s I was ate up with sports cards collecting.

So Pokemon was around, just didn't get into it.

They sure just dropped it on the desktop once again.

At the next AMD Fanboy Club meeting can you do me a favor?

When you guys are writing love letters back to the mothership, can you please request the AMD Graphics Division put more pressure on nVidia?

Thanks!

That's coming with full Navi.

Hopefully that's at CES too. Would imagine it is. Get our first look at AMD's Ray Tracing tech both for the PS5 and big Navi.

AMD clearly isn’t tired of winning yet… - Threadripper 3970X/3960X Review

Zen 2 Threadripper is fricking nutty.

No wonder Intel didn't want to go against it as he says in the first video.
