Nah don't talk shite to me on a board because my posts aren't what you like.
I don't care who you are if you don't like it don't read it, simple.
Don't try and police a message board. He did the same shite a few months ago trying to say this thread is for PC stuff only and he got shot down then too.

The same is happening with nVidia midrange cards
Actually it is almost all because of mining.
Wall Street stunned over AMD’s blowout results due to cryptocurrency mining demand
AMD cards have always been used for mining while Nvidia never really was. As a result the software wasn't there for Nvidia to begin with.
AMD cards became so impossible to find it trickled down to having to use Nvidia which in return forced devs to create software for mining with Nvidia cards.

Because of the higher compute.
We all experienced the mining craze of 2013-2014 here. Probably had 10+ posters with 5+ GPUs mining BTC back then.

This is the only good reason RX Vega will do okay with sales. Theoretical compute is around 13TFlops giving price/performance okay at the $500 mark.
If the market holds..
Edt: No one is buying that garbage at that price point. They will just hold out for something else. HBM2 was a bad decision in a gaming card for AMD.

Right, better price/performance and typically better HR.
So this go around the first few months were again AMD cards only. Then once the shortage was too much you saw them start to develop the programs to use Nvidia cards and then there they went.
Should be solid for Nvidia earnings as well, just not as much because it was later.

Mining is fun but a headache at times.
Once you have all your cards hooked up and running, it is fine.
What I couldn't stand was the noise. I had 1x290 and 4x7870s and 1x7950 back then. It sounded like a swarm of giant fckking bees. So took it out my computer room, put in garage. Still could hear it in the house. Then put in attic, still could hear it.
Idk if i'll ever do that shtt again just because of the noise.

I found this interesting..
Fckk flash manufacturers.

Yeah it seems that way. I got really close to doing it a few months ago but ended up saying frick that.
I'm sure once I actually got a few cards and had it all setup it would be fine but I lost interest pretty quick.

If you live in an apartment, even decent size of 1200-1500sqft it is a no go IMO.
House, all depends how it is setup. Open floor plans it will not work out too good.

Yeah it's a house split level, have an extra bedroom upstairs to do it in that's basically just storage but idk just never pulled the trigger after reading into it and then trying to find cards just said nevermind.

If you enjoy the sound of a swarm of bees from the Jurassic period.. then mining is for you!

What I don't understand is why ppl are just jumping on this bandwagon? It has been terrible for sometime now.
My thing is PCI-E lanes.
Edt: Another thing, these sites are like click bait with this shtt. They all spend to much time on all the wrong shtt.
We have a lot of ignorant fckks in "tech reviews" now. They are making Linus seem like a guru.

I would guess that Ryzen woke a lot of them up. Before when there was no competition there was nothing really worth saying as it wouldn't matter.
Now that there is and people can pretty easily see what has been going on, the best way to get Intel to fix things is media pressure and hitting them in the pocket book, both of which are happening.
IF Coffee Lake truly offers 15% performance over Kaby Lake, and they offer a $299 6 core...win win. It has worked/helped.

AMD didn't push this.
That was always Intel's road map.

I disagree, that pricing is 100% because of AMD.

Sorry wasn't talking about pricing.
Was speaking towards the 6C and 15% on IPC.
Agree AMD pushed that chip -$50 down on its retail price.

Of course Intel also said Kaby Lake was 10% IPC improvement over Skylake and was actually ~3% so grain of salt there.
Should know more pretty soon I think they said August reveal on Coffee Lake.
