I'm not anti-hard drive myself other than the noise and the volatility. It's still an acceptable form of cheap mass storage if properly backed up, and the noise is a problem only if your tower is going to be on a desk. Mine is on carpeted floor which pretty much silences the whole thing. I do plan to move all my hard drives out of my case to an external solution though. Want to make room for more SSDs to access my most important files (mostly work files). I want to get my media files on a dedicated media server.

Optical drives are just useless nowadays for everything but the rarest occasions. I still have one, and there's maybe an instance once every year and a half where I have to use it. Mostly, they just make the front of a case look ugly unless it has a bay door.

You don't need a sound card. Onboard sound is more than capable. The quality of the speakers/headphones is more important. For good quality headphones, I've found that a headphone amp/dac combo makes a difference.

The fans that come with the 760T are fine, and the case has a fan controller. I will add, however, that a full tower is kind of excessive for a basic build like this (by basic, I don't mean hardware performance, but the usual single-GPU and air-cooled CPU setup with only a few drives).

Coyote only buys good PSUs, so it's a pretty convenient way to save 50 bucks.
