I'm having a strange graphical glitch problem on my old AM3 board.
Every once in a while, say every third log in, the extended shut down menu ( the sleep, restart, log off etc one) will be totally black. if you roll the pointer over one of the options, that option will light up white so you can see it though. other symptoms include the faint greyish line that separates the pinned start menu items from the recent and all programs section being a dark black line and sometimes the scroll bar being much darker than usual.
simply logging out and logging back in (no reboot required) fixes the issue though.
ill take a screen shot next time i think about it.
anyways
it happens on both a 4850 and 6850 and with different drivers for both. originally i thought the 4850 must just be artifacting but now that it continued to happen with the 6850 i have my doubts.
think i got unlucky and both cards are going out or maybe its the board (or just that particular pci x slot)?

Can't tonight but like I said I will be on this weekend. I put my PC back together today and let Steam and everything else update. Also downloaded the new games I have bought the past few weeks.

This sounds logical. Do you have a PCI slot tester at work?

I dont think so, but i can look.
Ive got a couple testing options available though. the board has a second slot @ x4 and i also have a brand new 6450 which is currently in my personal computer at work.
just wanted to see if anyone had experienced that particular type of glitch before.

I need a place to buy WBGA-170 GDDR5 memory from.
I have found one distributor in Dallas maybe but I have to call Monday to see if the have what I need. I need some to replace a bad memory module on another card I bought.
Any ideas?
Worst comes to worst I can buy a cheap card and rob the memory off of it and reball it to put on this card but I know there has to be someone out there I can buy the stuff from.
Digikey didn't have it and they usually have everything.
ETA: Boom...found it.

no idea. we would just recommend the customer buy a new card since we couldnt reasonably offer a warranty on the work.
you get into the oddest situations
eta: if someone ever asks you to replace the glass only (not lcd digitizer, just glass) on and iphone 5, id recommend you kindly request that they kiss the absolute brownest part of your arse. i swear to god - like a 2 hour process. 2 hours of painstaking, meticulous scraping.
