Have any of you delved into any of these systems. I have some extra space in my place and I am looking to either get a couple arcade 1up machines with risers or get a pandoras box and do that with a projector set up

The arcade 1up machines are obviously a safe choice because you pretty much know what you are getting up front as reviews are reliable because the machines are manufactured by the same company

From what I understand of pandoras box is that it can be hit or miss and that there are many companies putting out their own version. Reviews are consistently pretty good on youtube and the reviews on amazon are pretty good on a couple but the number of reviews are very limited so I am skeptical. Rerez did a review on the 4s and 5s and didnt seem to come away to impressed with some of the emulations however

If you know of any other arcade emulators similar to this feel free to let me know

1up wouldn’t be my choice just because the game selection is kinda crappy for what you pay.

You get, at most, 4 games and there’s only 1-2 good ones out of those.

Granted, I have a different POV because I bought an Ultracade back when they were legal.

The advantage of the arcade 1 up machine (I would get the street fighter one first) is that I know the emulation is good with an easy compact set up. Good for when you have some buddies come over and just want to have a few drinks and argue over kicking each others asses in street fighter

The advantage of a pandoras box obviously is the large selection of games. My fears however would be poor emulation with bad frame rates or lag. Also to get a nice aesthetically pleasing set up will take a little more work

The other disadvantage of a 1Up machine is that, due to small size, it makes multiplayer a problem due to cramped conditions.

It would get crowded to do SF2 on one. God forbid you play Gauntlet or Rampage with 3 players on that model.

Most say that you are noticeably in tighter quarters for 2 player games but it doesnt effect game play and after a few minutes you dont even pay attention to it any more. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a con for me because I am not expecting a totally authentic arcade experience for the price tag. I know what I am getting with the arcade 1 up and have played on a couple of sample systems. I am not a hardcore arcade gamer and never have been but I do enjoy the arcade console set up and feel (controls, button layout, game play style)

I would probably get the street fighter one initially and then wait for the 2nd line up to come out in 2019. I think mortal kombat will be in that line up

But if a pandoras box console can be a reliable emulator I would pretty much have everything I need there and can make a pretty good projector setup up and it would be the clear choice. But like I said, not sure on the reliability of the emulations

The cabinet is junk, small and not able to mod. Also a little over price.

Do anything but the 1Up IMO.
