A lot of those Disney games were pretty hard, or at least had some levels that ramped the difficulty up to 11.

Aladdin had some really difficult levels, and some pretty easy ones.

I think DuckTales might be the only I remember being easy the whole way through.

Honestly, I think part of it was to get kids to keep re-renting these games.

Not sure that counts. Konami intentionally fricked that one for the US to prevent it from being beaten as a weekend rental.
