Most games are repetitive, regardless on the genre. Every once and awhile youll get a decent creative game with a well thought out story, but then get a year or two of re-washed FPS, MMO, and sport games.

I have had quite a few runs with WOW. Its fun when it's peaking, but doing the same old questing shite gets old quick. They have some pretty bad drop quests with drop rates of like 5% so you could be doing one quest all day.

Yeah, I hate those.

Most gather quests have had increased drop rates. Some can still be bad, but most aren't that bad anymore.
As most have said, its a fun game when its new, but once the new wears off it becomes a very repetitive cycle. I always found things to do by farming old dungeons/raids, but after a while that became a repetitive grind as well.

It was fun when my brother that lives in canada and I could log in and play together. Sucks otherwise. shite is soooo easy now its a fricking joke. Dungeons are garbage.

I have a question. A roommate in college played WOW religiously and one day I walked by his computer and saw that his character was a chicken. And his chicken was with other chickens running what looked like a race. He called it a chicken run. What the hell was that all about?

If it was exactly as you stated, I have no clue. Maybe there was a special event and I was away from the game at that time. If they were on mounts, it could have been a mechanostrider. They look a little more like an ostrich than a chicken though.

could have also been part of the argent tournament quests. part of those quests require you to ride around on the chocobos.

You sure that wasn't Lord of The Rings Online ? They were quests where you were literally turned in to a chicken for an hour.

its not a bad game and I enjoyed it while I played, I just got tired of doing the same thing over and over again after 2.5 years.
That is the premise of all MMOs IMO. Played EQ from 01 till 06, and I cant stand them anymore. Basically chase the loot carrot, and deal with guild drama.
TOR will be the first I played since then, and only doing so to check out the story behind the classes.

I remember The Chicken Run. That was in LOTRO, and that quest wasn't easy by any means. You were turned into a chicken, and you basically had to avoid every mob around, or get killed and start all over again.

I had fun playing vanilla wow a few years back but it did get repetitive. I swore off Mmorpgs after playing wow for a few years, I'll stick with games that I can beat.

Do not get caught up in the power leveling. This is were a guild can hurt you. You will miss a lot of the game play and story line by power leveling. Joining a guild does have its perks though. Take your time and experience what the game has to offer. But you will get ganked by a 85 over and over.
Also on dungeons runs which is your best gear is, find a group that know what the frick they are doing. Hunters dropping Crit, Tanks pulling whole mobs, It can be frustrating try and learn everyones part of the dungeons so you will know that DPS is the easiest, while the heals and tank actually have to play.

Last warning....step away from the WOW!!!
Notice most people talking about the 2.5 or 3 years they played.
They won't admit how many hours of those years they played because it is a dirty secret.
These games are created to suck your life out slowly so they can continue to cash your check.
Yes, I am a former MMORPGer. That is the first step, admitting it.
You will initially love the game, then you will like it, then you will hate it but still play it for some odd reason. It almost takes an intervention to pull away from these damn games.
You have been warned.
PS
The one I played was total crap and yet it was still addictive. You have no chance with WOW. Just watch the South Park WOW episode.

Myth, don't ask me why, but I wouldn't have pegged you for an MMOhead.

The way it is now, your best bet is to level up on a normal or RP server then switch to a PVP server if that is your wish.
You can change realms every three days, for $25, if that is your wish. I just gave one of my nephews my 70 elemental shaman and it cost me $25 to switch realms, then another $25 after the three day cool to switch accounts.
I'll probably give another of my characters away to my youngest nephew later on. I'm just killing time in WoW until all the new stuff goes into Star Trek Online. And I will certainly give Star Wars: The Old Republic a try as well.

Brah, come to Muradin if you want help and a good guild. If you do, add Xertion to your friends list
