Not planning on reading through 194 pages to see if this has already been answered... Do I need to have played Oblivion or the earlier games to appreciate Skyrim?

Oh, I haven't done that yet. I thought killing Alduin was the main quest and the civil war was a side quest? Guess I was wrong. Let me correct myself, I have finished the Alduin quest.

No skyrim stands completely on its own. The only references to Oblivion and Morrowind are in random books spread out around Skyrim that have nothing to do with this game.

I pick it just to make it shut the frick up. Although it probably is the most valuable plant on the game. Though if you're seriously hunting and gathering in this game to make money I have lost all faith.

yea, there are so many easy/glitch ways to get gold that hunting and gathering just isn't worth it. Go hunt for the enjoyment of killing every living think in the game

No not doing it for the money, but one bitch asked me to get them for her and I just assumed it would be worth more based on how important they seem.
