Hey. How do I know the patch version on my game?

I am thinking of starting a new end game toon because my save game is just too slow now. It takes like 3 minutes every time I exit a house or city or save.

Plus this time I can at least do a much better job of planning out my perks.

Anyone wanna share some thoughts on my character? Or post what you're working with?

What perks have you gotten that are well worth the investment? I'm looking for some pointers there. I'm thinking about doing some speech upgrades to be able to do the investing in stores and selling back stolen items.

This is the first in-depth RPG I've played since Zelda on N64, and I'm in awe at how far video games have come

quote:

Here's a look at my current character:

Level 35

Redguard (+10 One-Handed, +5 Destruction, Alteration, Smithing, Block, Archery; 50% resistance to poison; Adrenaline Rush : Stamina regenerates 10x faster for 60 seconds)

Primary attack: One handed lvl 76 w/ Block lvl 42
weapon = Legendary Daedric Mace (79 damage + 17 points fire damage enchantment)

Secondary attack: Archery lvl 47
weapon = Flawless Elven Bow (29 damage + (arrow) + 10 points fire damage enchantment)

Jewlery:
Necklace — The Gauldur Amulet (+30 for each Health, Magicka and Stamina)
Ring — EITHER Silver Amethyst Ring (+22% one-handed attack enchantment) OR Ring of Extreme Archery (+35% more damage with Bows)

Armor:
Legendary Daedic Shield: 75 armor with +13 magic resistance enchantment
Legendary Dragonplate Armor: 170 armor +9 points health enchantment
Legendary Dragonplate Boots: 70 armor +22% damage with one-handed attacks enchantment
Legendary Dragonplate Gauntlets: 70 armor +14% damage with one-handed attacks enchantment
Legendary Dragonplate Helmet: 84 armor +3% more powerful created potions

Total armor rating: 469
Magicka: 140
Health: 300
Stamina: 290

Highest level skill: Smithing (100)
Lowest level skill: Illusion (17)

Other notable sill levels (ones I use often):
Alchemy - 46
Speech - 43
Lockpicking - 49
Pickpocket - 24
Sneak - 33
Heavy armor - 71
Enchanting - 60

And a few n00b questions:
1. Where can sell my stolen items? Somewhere in the Thieves guild? I just haven't gotten this far.
2. Are there benefits of marrying someone?
3. Do the different armor pieces I have enchanted with the same enchantment (several for +damage on one-handed attacks) "stack" on top of one another? I.E. if I have both boots and gauntlets with +20% one-handed damage, do that come out to a total of +40%?
4. How much should I bother with the magic college since I'm focusing on one-handed? Just more fun quests?
5. Is there an "easy" way to earn gold? I just keep getting things in caves and selling them, but is there like a way to set up a farm or something and have people harvest and sell stuff for your profit? (like a Command and Conquer style harvest lol)

I just completed the companion's quest line tonight, and I really enjoyed both the gameplay and storyline experiences. I got MW3 the week before I got SkyRim, and I haven't really played MW3 since then

Yes on the thieves guild.

There is a perk that lets you sell anything to any vendor, I don't know if that lets you sell stolen items or not. I haven't tested it but my wife seems to by anything I sell.

Thanks. The perk does, from how I read the description. I need to just start the thieves guild storyline.

I just edited in some more questions if you wanna take a stab at those,

2. Are there benefits of marrying someone? Yes they set up a store and you get a cut of the profits and can sell anything to them.

I don't know the answer to this but someone will.

4. How much should I bother with the magic college since I'm focusing on one-handed? Just more fun quests?

Free soulstones and alchemy reagents once a week. DO IT.

5. Is there an "easy" way to earn gold? I just keep getting things in caves and selling them, but is there like a way to set up a farm or something and have people harvest and sell stuff for your profit? (like a Command and Conquer style harvest lol)

There is a perk to to up the gold vedors have. While smithing enchant what you make. I carried around the stuff I enchanted to sell and a lot of potions you make can sell for a lot. I used to do rounds with the alchemy shops and buy the reagents and then sell potion to them to make back the money.

This is an important question for me, so if someone else has an answer, I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, that makes me want to do it now. I haven't figured out how to fill soul stones yet, and I'm constantly having to buy them off vendors to re-charge my weapons.

It took me longer than I'd like to admit too sell stuff I loot to a vendor, then buy stuff like healing potions from then, and then sell the rest of my loot... Moving the money back and forth works well.

It stacks, just watch your damage for your weapon go up as you equip each piece.

1.Where can sell my stolen items? If you do all of the thieves quests and all the Return to Glory Quests (5 jobs in each of the major cities) then the fence at the underground bar will have 4k gold. Plus there will be 4 new vendors with 1k. So knocking out all of the thieves quests and jobs makes it easier to sell stuff.

2. Are there benefits of marrying someone? Slight advantage. You can get some money from here and sell goods to her. Not a lot of cash so just a slight benefit.

3. Do the different armor pieces I have enchanted with the same enchantment (several for +damage on one-handed attacks) "stack" on top of one another? Yes. Enchanting stacks which is what makes the game difficulty flawed. It gets too easy if you have high magic resistances, health regenerations and bonuses to your attack.

4. How much should I bother with the magic college since I'm focusing on one-handed? Just more fun quests?Play whatever way you want. Once bored with one skill you can move to another. I've spent 180 hours in the game and have done 1 mage quest.

5. Is there an "easy" way to earn gold? I just keep getting things in caves and selling them, but is there like a way to set up a farm or something and have people harvest and sell stuff for your profit? Well, you get a small amount of gold from the wife, you get items and gold put in your chest as head of thieves guild and mages guild. If you collect all the ingredients for the chick in riften potion shop, you get a chest in the shop that will spawn items from time to time.

The reality is that gold isn't really that necessary except early in the game. I've got 100k+ and don't even pick up items anymore.

I rushed to get the solitude house, but still really only use the whiterun house. I think I mainly stick with Whiterun because I have too much stuff to move to another house.

I routinely find myself with 12k+ after clearing a few dungeons. And I am always finding more and more dungeons.. it surprises the hell out of me. Last night I realized there's a whole damn city I haven't gone into yet, and a good corner of the map I haven't explored, yet I'm level 38, maxed smithing, enchanting, and my destruction is 83

I need 1 more level to be able to stack enchants; I got enchanting to 100 but like a tard I used a couple of the points elsewhere. Once I can stack enchants, I have like 10 black/grand soul gems just waiting to pimp my and my follower's gear.

It is very easy to pick up since there are no right and wrong things to do. If you need help with something a quick google search will provide you the answer you need, or ask on here the posters are great with providing quick answers.
